Posted on 8/24/2020 by Dr. David Wanserski
Signs Your Teeth Might Soon Fall OutHave your gums been bleeding? Are you fighting bad breath that won't go away? Do your teeth feel like they might fall out? You may be experiencing the signs of possible tooth loss. While we know it can be scary to think about it is important to know the warning signs and what they mean.

Bleeding Gums

If brushing your teeth every day makes your gums bleed you could be developing periodontitis which can cause tooth loss. Periodontitis is an infection of the gums. It is possible that your bleeding gums is being caused by gingivitis, this causes inflamed gums and can be treated by proper oral hygiene. Make sure to talk with one of our dental professionals before diagnosing yourself.

Sensitivity and Sharp Pain

Experiencing sharp pain in your teeth when you eat or drink could be caused by tooth decay, exposed roots, a cracked tooth, or even a worn-out filling. These things are treatable but can lead to tooth loss if ignored. Whenever feeling discomfort in your teeth, it's always a good idea to make an appointment with one of our dental professionals to get to the root of the cause before it's too late.

Bad Breath

If you start to notice that you can't get rid of that bad breath you may be experiencing gum disease. This is an important sign that something is wrong, and you could be at risk for tooth loss. Gum disease is the leading cause for tooth loss and should not be taken lightly. Even if it's just bad breath, it never hurts to get checked out as it could be something serious.

Loose or Shifting Teeth

As an adult your teeth stop growing and falling out like they did when you were younger. If your teeth start to feel loose or if one of them actually falls out, you should call our offices immediately to schedule an appointment with one of our dental professionals. Losing just one tooth can mean that your gums are compromised and could lead to a host of other issues that may result in the need for dental implants.

It is always important to pay attention to the warning signs of tooth loss. Even if you experience some of the signs you still may be able to stop the process before it's too late. With excellent oral hygiene and a trip to our dental office you can easily stop or fix potential tooth loss. If you are experiencing these signs please call us for help.
