Tips for Making Cleaning Your Dentures a Little EasierIf you want your dentures to last long, you need to take good care of them. According to research, if you take good care of your dentures, they could last for a decade. For that reason, it is vital to know some of the ways that can make it easy to clean dentures.

Try Old Baking Soda

You have probably used baking soda before, but did you know you can use it to clean your dentures as well? Baking soda is a readily available commodity that can do an excellent job cleaning your dentures. If you want to use the household product, place a toothbrush under running water and drop some baking soda. After that, gently brush your dentures and ensure you cover every area. Then, carefully rinse your dentures with clean, warm water. Dry them up before using them.

Thoroughly Clean Dentures after Eating Staining Foods

Many foods could stain your teeth. These foods could also stain your dentures. They can stain any oral appliance, be it implants, veneers, or dental crowns. Some foods that tend to stain teeth are red wine, berries, coffee, berry pies, beets, and others. After consuming any of these foods, you should gently clean your dentures to avoid having stains. Removing these food particles ensures that dentures are in excellent condition and there is no risk of infections or staining.

Soak in Salt Water

As a denture wearer, you could be soaking them overnight as you sleep. Even though soaking helps keep them in good condition, a saltwater solution is more effective. It is easy to create a saltwater solution — mix water and a tablespoon of salt and stir thoroughly. Then, soak the dentures in the solution and leave them there overnight.
